GLR Carlos San Miguel in Edwards

Good morning "Fighting Machinists" from your brothers and sisters here at Edwards AFB, California.  We hope that all remember our beloved Mother's, Grandmother's, Mother-In-Law's and wife's on Mother's Day.

Some of you woke up to a little rain, sunshine and cooler temperatures for us here this morning.  As you can still see we are holding a strong line with the commitment of a few brothers and sisters.  We had a minor set back this weekend but over came the CHECK glitch.  It was understood that sometimes things cannot be helped.  This morning those checks were distributed to our members standing at the West Gate of Edwards AFB near the city of Rosamond, California.
Unfortunately we don't have the ability to stand next to the entrance to the plant but stand on a stretch of highway were folks travel at a speed of 65 mph or faster.  We do receive the support of passersby by honking there horns in support.  Stay strong on the lines!

Edwards Strike Pictures

Hello from your brothers and sisters who remain true to the cause and fight.

Message from GLR Carlos H. San Miguel Jr., at Edwards AFB, California.

The members working here at Edwards AFB are standing tall and proud with each of you in Texas and Maryland. Several have crossed the picket line on day one but a few remain strong and bear the conditions of the cold in the morning and heat in the afternoon. Much like all of you do on the line. You know that our folks here are traveling around 50 miles one way at a gas price of $4.29 a gallon. As you look at these photos that show the vehicles driving away from our picket line they must travel 10 miles to the security check point. From the security check point to the Lockheed Martin Hangers is another 18 miles. Grand total from the picket line to hanger’s is about 28 miles one way. You can see that Edwards AFB is a remote site out in the Mojave Desert.
Fraternally,
Carlos H. San Miguel Jr.
